About TypeMaster

A free, simple and fun way to measure and improve your typing speed.

What is TypeMaster?

TypeMaster is a free online typing speed test. It measures how many words per minute (WPM) you type and how accurate you are, so you can see your progress over time. No download or account is needed to start.

What you can do

• Take tests in five languages: English, Arabic, French, Spanish and German.
• Choose between word, quote, free and timed modes, with optional punctuation and numbers.
• See your speed and accuracy live while you type.
• Discover your "typing spirit animal", from the calm Cat to the legendary Phoenix, based on your speed.
• Personalize the look with 14 themes, several fonts and an adjustable text size.
• Read practical tips and exercises on our blog.

How WPM is calculated

We follow the standard used by most typing tests: every 5 characters you type count as one word. Your WPM is the number of these words divided by the minutes spent typing. Accuracy is the percentage of characters you typed correctly.

Support the project

TypeMaster is free and supported by people who enjoy it. If it helped you, you can buy us a coffee on Ko-fi.
